JUNIOR GOLF SUMMER CAMPS

Director of Instruction Todd Southard and the Golf Pros at Carmel Valley Ranch are excited to offer three-day camps for ages 6 to 12. These camps are a great opportunity to learn all aspects of the game, including full swing, short game, putting, and etiquette. Each session includes on-course play. Space is limited!

KITES ON THE WIND

Discover the pure enjoyment of kites in flight! Join our Activity Fun-gineers for an afternoon of building, decorating, and flying your own kite. We provide the basic kit and instruction; you provide the creative flair. All ages welcome; parents are encouraged to make it a family affair for the little ones. 60 minutes; $35 per kite. THE AMAZING WORLD OF BEES

Experience the ancient magic of beekeeping through the lens of Beekeeper Mariah McDonald and the Carmel Valley Ranch Bees! The Amazing World of Bees will delight the imagination and the senses as you experience beekeeping at its fullest. From hive science to honey extractions, you'll learn the latest buzz about these imporant pollinators.

Each class begins in the Organic Garden with a discussion and demonstration, accompanied by refreshing honey-lavender lemonade. Then you’ll suit up and head into the Apiary to learn how new hive installations draw connections between plants and herbs, pollen and pollinators. Finally, you'll taste honey from different hives, infused with the flavors of herbs growing nearby.

RANCH HANDS KIDS CAMP

Inviting all Junior Wranglers, ages 6 to 12! Join us for a fresh take on a Carmel Valley Ranch Classic. Each day includes a structured schedule of educational play, outdoor adventure, pool time and themed* programming. Lunch is included. Kids Camp is offered on Saturdays & Sundays year-round, and daily from May 25 to September 2, 2018.

SUSTAINABLE WILDCRAFTING

Building on the concept of foraging, wildcrafting is the practice of harvesting potent and unusual plants from their native habitats in a way that maintains the growth and health of the species. Wildcrafting brings us back to the days when our survival depended on protecting the land. Mushrooms, herbs, and other plants have long been sought-after ingredients for both medicine and cuisine. In this class, mycologist and western herbalist Mariah McDonald and wildcrafter Spencer Jones will take you out to explore our secret gardens and hillsides in search of ingredients for creating nourishing food, teas, and tinctures. 90 minutes, $45. Private classes available for $95 per person with a 10-guest minimum.

NOCK, DRAW, LOOSE! ARCHERY AT THE RANCH

Join us down on the River Lawn to learn the basic techniques behind the ancient sport of archery, using classic recurve bows. Our adult class* (90 minutes, age 12+) focuses on skills and competition. Youth Archery (60 minutes, ages 8-11) includes skill-building exercises and games to keep it fun and engaging. Parents may leave children in our care and return at the end of the session. $55 per person.
* Archery is a serious sport with certain levels of risk, so please arrive before attending Happy Hour!
